Is DreamBone Safe And What Are Their 5 Best Products

Your pet deserves to be treated every once in a while, but there always seems to be the risk of giving them a product that is bad for their health. I constantly hear horror stories about rawhides and wouldn’t consider running the risk of giving my fur baby something disguised as a tasty treat that might have a negative impact on her health.

However, chew treats provide stress relief and dental health benefits that I don’t want her to miss out on either! What is a dog parent to do when so many treats contain rawhide? Luckily, we don’t have to dream up a product ourselves, DreamBone has us covered.

            DreamBone’s Brand

DreamBone was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing safe and healthy treats for your dog. They claim to be “revolutionizing pet chews” and take monitoring their products for quality control seriously. Best of all, their chews are rawhide-free, highly digestible, and made with vitamins and minerals to promote a healthy lifestyle.

            Reviews & Rating

DreamBone may sound like the products of your dreams, but let’s take a look at some reviews and see how their products have held up to the company’s promises. While there are mostly positive reviews, some customers have claimed that the treats don’t last very long compared to rawhide products. Others have reported that there is a white residue from the treats left on carpets, furniture, and beds.

While DreamBone is a healthier alternative to other rawhide products, there doesn’t seem to be any larger chews for bigger dog breeds. However, if you have a smaller dog and don’t mind the treat disappearing a little faster than an unhealthy alternative, DreamBone is a great fit!

I give DreamBone four stars out of five because even though there are some minor setbacks to having a product that isn’t one-size-fits-all, it is still a healthier alternative to rawhide products.

Even though the brand doesn’t offer sizes that cater to large dog breeds, it does offer a variety of different shapes, sizes, and flavors! DreamBone has a variety of different tasty treats and I picked out the top five in order to give you an overview of what the brand has to offer your pup. Remember not to overfeed your dog treats; she can start to gain weight.

            Top Picks

            1. Chicken Classic Large Bone Chews

If your fur baby is a fan of traditional chicken flavor this may be the right choice for her! This is one of DreamBone’s “large” options but as I mentioned earlier, a lot of reviews claimed that even this option was too small for their large breed dogs or that it didn’t last as long as some other treat options, so keep that in mind.

This treat is rawhide-free, staying true to the brand’s mission, and it includes real chicken and vegetables as well as vitamins and minerals such as vitamin E and manganese that promote a healthy lifestyle. You can purchase these classic chews at Chewy.com.

If your pup really loves starchy treats but you don’t want to overdo it, then this mini sweet potato chew will satisfy her cravings. Similar to DreamBone’s other products, this treat is made with real ingredients such as chicken and sweet potato.

It isn’t a vegetarian option, but it doesn’t contain rawhide. It does have vitamin and mineral enrichments to keep your dog happy and healthy while they snack on a delicious treat. You can purchase these potato-based treats at Chewy.com.

Although DreamBone’s chews all promote dental health, these dental chews are specially designed to promote dental hygiene. They are made to freshen your dog’s breath, clean and whiten their teeth, and are shaped to help get those tricky spots where plaque builds up on your pup’s chompers.

This treat includes real chicken flavor as well as calcium to promote healthy teeth and bones.  You can purchase these teeth cleaning treats at Chewy.com.

If your dog is a fan of finding out what’s inside the center of her chew, then this treat will delight her! These Butcher Cut chews are made with a surprise pork center so to get to it, your pup will have to work through the bone on the outside first. Some extra motivation never hurts if she’s typically not a fan of plain old chews.

These treats are also rawhide-free, easy to digest, enhanced with vitamins and minerals, and made with real chicken and vegetables. You can purchase these surprise center snacks at Chewy.com

Speaking of surprise centers, these stuffed pork chews will give your pup some motivation to chew through the twisty outside of these treats. Similar to all other DreamBone products, these fun twisty chew sticks are rawhide-free, enriched with vitamins and minerals, and made with real chicken, pork, and vegetables. You can purchase these twisted treats at Chewy.com.

            Conclusion

Overall, I’m very impressed with DreamBone’s mission to provide treats that are highly digestible and completely free of rawhide. I have a lot of respect for their mission to provide dogs with chews and bones that won’t damage their digestive system. I’m also pleased to see that they also provide specialty treats such as the dental chews that cater to certain dogs and dog owner’s needs.

Since my dog is a German Shepard, I know she would just about swallow whole any of the treats DreamBone makes rather than spend time chewing on them. I found other reviews echoing my concerns about the lack of treats that accommodate larger dogs from the DreamBone brand. Hopefully, DreamBone will develop larger treats in the near future, but in the meantime, if you have a smaller or medium-sized dog, these treats may be a great fit for them!

If you’re interested in trying the brand out for yourself, you can order individual bags of treats from Chewy.com or if you know your dog will love them you can buy in bulk!
