Blue Buffalo Freedom Small Breed Adult

The Blue Buffalo brand is one of the most-recommended by Pomeranian owners. The Blue Buffalo Freedom variety offers a small breed adult formula perfect for Pomeranians.

This formula is grain-free, so no need to worry about possible grain allergies. Plus, it features high levels of carbs and proteins to meet the needs of your energetic Pom.

One of the reasons I love this brand for Pomeranians is because of its Omega 3 and 6 and glucosamine additions. As I mentioned, these are super important additives for Pomeranians to support joint, coat, and skin health. Blue Buffalo also uses only real, deboned chicken, so you won't find chicken meal or by-product.

Solid Gold Wee Bit Small Breed Dry Dog Food

Solid Gold Wee Bit Small Breed food is one of the most popular choices for Pomeranian owners. With over 40 years of pet food experience, Solid Gold developed this variety to specifically meet the needs of small breeds.

It balanced fresh bison with much-needed fats, grains, and 20 superfoods. This dog food really is the full package for your Pomeranian.

You'll find a mix of wholesome ingredients like ocean fish, brown rice, dried eggs, apples, broccoli, and cranberries. This diet will aid your Pom's digestion, development, and overall health. Additionally, it comes in tiny kibbles for easy chewing.

Royal Canin X-Small Adult Dry Dog Food

Royal Canin X-Small Adult Dry Dog Food is made specifically for dogs between 10 months and 8 years old. Its kibble is extra tiny to help small dogs, like Pomeranians, chew and digest it. And, it's enriched with EPA and DHA for a healthy skin and coat, one of the concerns for Pomeranians.

Since Poms are an active breed, Royal Canin meets their energy demands with this high protein recipe. It contains chicken meal, brewer's rice, corn, and more for protein and carb content. However, brewer's rice is the first ingredient, rather than an animal protein.

Brewer's rice is an excellent source of fiber, but I'd rather see a protein for the first ingredient. Still, the high-fiber content is important to aid in your Pomeranian's digestion.

Castor & Pollux Organix Grain-Free Small Breed Recipe

If you're looking for an organic option for your Pomeranian, Castor & Pollux Organix is the perfect choice. This grain-free small breed recipe has a super-healthy balance of meats, vegetables, vitamins, and minerals.

Organix focuses on providing plenty of nutritious ingredients for active small breeds, like the Pomeranian. This small breed recipe is packed with Omega 3 & 6 to improve the skin and coat of your Pomeranian. And, added calcium and phosphorus help keep his bones and teeth strong.

Organix even prepares its food in a grain-free kitchen. So, you don't have to worry about possible contaminants if your dog has an allergy.

            Ziwi Peak Grain-Free Air-Dried

Ziwi Dog Food will take some more out of your pockets than other Pomeranian foods. However, its reviews are clear that Pomeranian owners feel the cost is worth it. Ziwi Grain-Free Freeze-Dried Dog Food is perfect for Pom's with grain allergies. Its formula is 98% fresh meat, organs, bones.

With the special addition of New Zealand mussels, your pom benefits from the natural chondroitin and glucosamine it contains, which is great for join health.

For this recipe, you'll find guaranteed grass-fed free-range venison. It is produced organically, sustainably, and ethically. hand-picks its ingredients from New Zealand farms and fisheries to give your dog only the best ingredients.

With this formula, your Pomeranian will be eating as well as you!

How Can I Find the Best Pomeranian Food?

This video from Bondi Vet provides a fun look at this fun-loving breed:

If you have a Pomeranian, you'll want to know what is the best dog food for Pomeranians and what Pomeranian food to avoid. What is the best dog food for a Pomeranian and how can you find it? Here are a few things you should look for in Pomeranian food:

            • Calorie intake: Pomeranians need about 300 to 400 calories daily. They are little balls of energy! Make sure your food choice will provide your Pomeranian with enough calories each day.
            • Small kibble: Smaller dogs have smaller jaws. Therefore, they can benefit from smaller kibble that won't be painful to chew. It can also be easier for smaller breeds to digest.
            • Quality protein: Dogs need quality proteins in their diets, and Pomeranians are no exception. Since they are active dogs, they need energy from protein. The best dog food for a Pomeranian will have real meat sources as the first one or two ingredients.
            • Added vitamins & minerals: Pomeranians can suffer from joint pain and skin allergies. Omega and other fish oils can help your Pomeranian have a healthy coat and skin. And glucosamine and chondroitin are important for joint health. The more sources for vitamins and minerals, the better.

            Final Thoughts

Pomeranians are one of the most-loved dog breeds for obvious reasons. They're adorable, energetic, fun, and give their owners plenty of affection. You, of course, want to keep your Pomeranian as healthy as possible.

My 13-year-old pom is overweight. Recently she obtained a rawhide knob stuck in her esophagus, she had an emergency endoscopy, 3 hours later it was retrieved. She has a smaller area where that rawhide was lodged. Dry dog food with no water she has a difficult time. She does not make enough saliva either as she does not drink much. I am asking your advise as salmon is now too rich for her. She had a pancreatic issue 3 years ago. I need weight control, small kibble, easy digestion best food for my baby. Please advise. Blue Buffalo has had a lot of issues with recalls.ls.
